Softcare Uganda Launches a Series of Charity Donations

Recently, the Softcare Uganda team visited St. Catherine’s College and the Family of Africa Orphanage to carry out sanitary product donations and health education activities. The event also invited well-known Ugandan KOLs to participate, jointly promoting proper hygiene awareness among local youth and contributing to improved health and sanitation conditions in Uganda.

On August 14, the Softcare Uganda team visited St. Catherine’s College in Makindye to lead a menstrual health initiative focused on combating period poverty and reducing stigma. The program included an educational workshop and the donation of essential sanitary products to ensure students have access to safe and reliable menstrual care.

Specifically, Softcare sanitary pads were distributed to young girls in need. And the accompanying interactive session covered menstrual hygiene, product usage, and health management, fostering open dialogue and significantly raising awareness around menstrual health.

The St. Catherine’s College in Makindye founded in 1999, is a private mixed boarding secondary school in Kampala. The College was well regarded within its community as emphasizes affordable education, particularly for disadvantaged youth, especially girls.

On 22 August, Softcare Uganda, togther with Faridah Nakazibwe, who is a prominent journalist and TV news anchor in Uganda advocating for women and children, delivered a donation of diapers and sanitary pads to the Family of Africa Orphanage to support the vulnerable youth.

The Family of Africa Orphanage is run by Family of Africa-Uganda, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kampala, Uganda. The Orphanage cares for vulnerable children, offering them shelter, education and healthcare. After the event, a representative from the Orphanage expressed their gratitude for the support from Softcare and Faridah, noting that the donations were vital for the health and dignity of those in their care.
